This short article details how I managed to get the Chronicles of Spellborn working on windows 7.

1. First I registered and downloaded the client from the Website. http://spellborn.acclaim.com/
2. Then I ran the installer and followed the normal steps.  I didn't run into a problem until the install was finished and the client attempted to patch itself up to the latest version.
3. The update servers were down (503 error) and the client couldn't download the latest patch info, if this happens to you just keep trying, the servers will come back up eventually.
4. The next problem I encountered was an error with "GameGuard" which I assume is some kind of anti cheat software that is installed along side the game client.  The version of GameGuard that is distributed with the client (even with the latest updates) is not compatible with windows 7, however there is a version online that is.
5. Download the newer version of GameGuard (Attached to this post below) and extract it to the following location depending on which version of Windows you are running and replace the target file.

   64 Bit :

   C:\Program Files (x86)\The Chronicles of Spellborn\bin\client

   32 Bit :

   C:\Program Files\The Chronicles of Spellborn\bin\client

6. The next time you try to run the game "GameGuard" will launch successfully and update itself from the internet.
   

7. After that the game will run !!! Yay.
