if you have installed Windows onto your mac using bootcamp you may have been surprised to find a new icon on your desktop when you rebooted back into OS X.
It'll probably be named "Untitled" and if you installed Windows with the default NTFS file-system it's read only in OS X, you can't change the name or modify any of the files on the drive.
This icon represents your Windows partition and it'll keep coming back every time you restart your mac. But there's good news, I came across a simple solution while browsing the Internet the other day (I'll update this post to include a link if I find the site again).
Here's how to make the icon disappear from your desktop for good !

CNET's staff writer Steven Musil continues their policy of unabashed Apple Hating with his latest "Week in review: Apple goes into thin 'Air'".
In this article, he points to an already disproved article by Michael Kanellos (Another CNET writer) as "proof" that the new Macbook AIR is not really the world's thinnest notebook.. In this article, he compares the thinnest point of the Sharp 'Muramasas' laptop against the thickest point on the macbook air.
The thinnest point on the Sharp laptop was 0.54", the thinnest point on the macbook air is 0.16".
